Everybody knows that Charlie Chaplin's life was quite intense. After three failed marriages and a bizzare behavior, he married Oona O'Neill, 36 years younger, but the couple proved a long lasting match, staying married for 30 years. They had 8 children together: Geraldine, Michael, Josephine, Victoria, Eugene, Jane, Annette and Christopher. Geraldine Chaplin, who has had a successful career as an actress, fell in love with the Chilean cinematographer Patricio Castilla, and in 1986 the couple welcomed a daughter, named Oona Chaplin. Stanley Kubrick was a stylized director and he never let us know what the purpose of style was. In certain films, his style forced the viewer to take an observational approach, so 'Eyes Wide Shut' works in a much more immersive way. Kubrick spent almost his entire career solving the questions of immersive story-telling, that's why his work still remains unique. It's easy to imagine his movies as worlds that we could explore as games. 'Eyes Wide Shut' (1999), his last movie, turned 18 years old since its release on July 16th, 1999. Almost two decades later, it remains one of the Kubrick's most immersive and mystifying film. The movie represents an essay which examines Kubrick's idea of strange pacing to achieve a hypnotic world. The narrative pacing is influenced by the awkward slowness, especially the dialogue.
